Why Best Of Voting Matters to Me This Year
There are moments in business that quietly shift everything. Last year was one of those moments for me.
2025 marked the first time Michelle Wight Makeup Artistry was nominated for Washington Wedding Day Best Of. Being recognized at that level, especially across multiple categories, was deeply meaningful. Winning Best Hair affirmed something I’ve always believed: consistency, preparation, and care still matter.
Long before awards or recognition, we were doing the work the same way we do now—showing up early, staying present, and delivering results that hold up under real pressure. That win wasn’t flashy. It was earned. And it set the tone for what we’re building next.
Voting for the Washington Wedding Day Best Of 2026 officially opens today, February 3rd.
This year, I’m asking for your support for Best Makeup.
That category represents the heart of what we do.
Our approach to makeup has never been about duplication or chasing trends. Every face is different. Every environment is different. Every timeline brings its own demands. What matters most is understanding structure, skin, lighting, wear time, and, most importantly, the person sitting in front of us.
That kind of work requires more than talent. It requires experience, judgment, and calm under pressure.
The artists on our team embody that standard. They arrive prepared. They work efficiently. They bring steady energy into spaces that often feel anything but calm. They care deeply about how clients feel throughout the process, not just how things look in the mirror.
That culture didn’t happen overnight. It was built intentionally—artist by artist, season by season. I’m incredibly proud of that.
You can also vote for us again in Best Hair and Best Content Creation. We approach every service and every platform with the same level of care and professionalism, and I stand fully behind the work we put into all three.
If our work has ever supported you, impressed you, or earned your trust, I would truly appreciate your vote.
This year, I also wanted to say thank you in a more tangible way. For the first time, we’re offering an in-studio hair and makeup giveaway connected to Best Of voting. It’s simple, sincere, and rooted in appreciation for the community that continues to support us.
