A Season of Gratitude and Growth
Hi friends,
I wanted to take a moment to share what’s been unfolding lately, a mix of meaningful recognition, collaborative creativity, and community support that I don’t take lightly. This season has been a reminder of why I care so deeply about this work and the people we get to serve.
Best Of 2026 Voting Is Open with a Giveaway to Say Thank You
Last year marked a turning point for our team. 2025 was the first time Michelle Wight Makeup Artistry was nominated for Washington Wedding Day Best Of, and being recognized across multiple categories was incredibly affirming. Winning Best Hair was especially meaningful because it reflected years of consistent, intentional work—showing up prepared, staying steady under pressure, and delivering with care every single time.
Now, voting for Washington Wedding Day Best Of 2026 is officially open, and this year we’re asking for your support in Best Makeup.
Makeup, for us, has never been about trends or replication. It’s about technical skill paired with discernment—reading skin, faces, lighting, timelines, and adjusting in real time. It’s about longevity, comfort, and confidence. Most importantly, it’s about honoring the person sitting in the chair. That level of work comes from experience, training, and a team that takes this craft seriously. I’m incredibly proud of the calm, capable, and deeply professional artists who make up our team.
A Small Way We’re Giving Back
As a thank-you for the continued support, this is the first year we’re offering an in-studio hair and makeup giveaway tied directly to Best Of voting. It’s not promotional, it’s simply our way of giving back to the community that continues to support us year after year.
If you choose to vote, all you need to do is cast your vote and reply to let us know you did. That’s it.
A Feature We’re Truly Honored By
This year also brought an exciting milestone. We were featured in a six-page spread in Washington Wedding Day, alongside two of our real couples. Seeing our work documented in that way, and being trusted to be part of such meaningful stories, was an honor I don’t take for granted.
A huge thank you to the talented vendors who made that editorial possible:

Community Always Comes First
Best Of is also a chance to recognize the many professionals who elevate this industry. Whether it’s planners, photographers, florists, filmmakers, or creatives working behind the scenes, this community is built on collaboration and mutual respect. I’m always proud to stand alongside teams who value preparation, professionalism, and care as much as we do.
Thank you for being here, for supporting our work, and for continuing to show up for thoughtful beauty and strong community. Your encouragement allows us to keep raising the bar and doing this work with intention.
With appreciation,
Michelle
