In My Kit
Have you ever wondered what makeup brands an artist uses in their kit?
Why it matters…..
Drugstore Brands Vs. Prestige Beauty Brands
Drugstore
NYX
Maybellene
L’oreal
Mass Beauty or Drugstore Beauty Brands have really stepped up their game, if you are looking to try a trendy new product without breaking the bank, this is a fun an affordable way to dabble with a liquid lipstick, or try a metallic glitter liner for a fun night on the town. These products should not be found in your professional makeup artist kit, if they are…keep searching.
Prestige Beauty
Tried and True. Prestige Beauty Brands are the staple of any professional makeup artist kit, they are better quality, long lasting, high pigmentation, nourishing ingredients. I personally have used these products for 15 years, I know their durability, versatility, and wear ability. For a special occasions and events prestige beauty is a must.
Luxury Beauty
Luxury Brands are a splurge even for a professional makeup artist, there aren’t many products that I haven’t at least been able to find a comparable item in the prestige category. A few items worth every scent, the fragrances, Tom Ford Primer is incomparable to any other, one drop will leave your makeup looking flawless. Armani Silk has been my go to daily wear foundation, the coverage is light so for an event I may consider a different option.
Clean Beauty
Almost daily I am now being asked about Clean Beauty. I have personally switched over many of my personal products and my teen daughters (her skin is highly sensitive and break out pron, I love the mission of clean and sustainable beauty and packaging. These are three brands that I personally use every single day, I do have some sprinkled in my kit for clients who exclusively want clean beauty products. I still have to say that as Pro Clean Beauty as I may be, I have yet to find something that will last for a 12 hour event day that wont need to be touched up…..#realtalk
