Back to My Roots with a Full Heart and Full Circle
Some moments in life feel like a movie, where everything aligns just right, and you realize how far you’ve come. That was me last weekend in California.
I flew down for a 20-year reunion with the original girls I started with at the MAC counter. Yes, that counter in the corner at Macy’s in Thousand Oaks, circa 2004. I was just 20 years old, a baby artist with big dreams and not a clue what was ahead. That corner? It was magic. We saw icons walk through: Britney Spears, Heather Locklear, and Denise Richards, and we were just a bunch of hungry artists trying to make our mark with pigment, powder, and passion.
We spent the day at Malibu Farms, and it honestly felt like coming home. Malibu was where I grew up, and being back with the women I started this journey with, on the same week as our nomination for Best Hair and Makeup at today’s gala (July 16)... it hit me hard. Full circle doesn’t even begin to cover it.
This career, this wild, beautiful ride, has given me more than I ever imagined. And standing shoulder to shoulder with those same artists 20 years later? It’s a reminder that the roots we plant early matter, and that this is a community built on talent, resilience, and heart.

LTK + Amazon Favorites
I’ve been getting so many DMs asking about my go-to products lately, from skin prep to beauty must-haves, so I’ve dropped a fresh round of links just for you. Whether you're a bride prepping for your big day or an artist stocking your kit, these are the products I swear by.
You’ll find everything from my favorite under-eye patches (yes, the ones I used this weekend!) to glow-boosting skin prep that works wonders in wedding photos.
Gratitude, Always
It’s easy to get caught up in the chaos of the beauty industry, so I’m extra grateful for moments like these that ground me in the why. For me, it’s always been about more than makeup. It’s about connection, creativity, and creating experiences that leave people feeling their absolute best.
Here’s to 20 years of glam, growth, and going full circle. I’m so glad you’re part of this story.
With love and lashes,
Michelle
