Will you travel to me and what does that look like…..
The short answer to this is yes. I will travel to you, I have personally loved to travel since I can remember so naturally I fell into a profession that allowed me to explore and see the most beautiful places I might otherwise have missed. This year has been unlike any other, I have traveled up to Mt. Rainier to get a client ready in the parking lot, I’ve zip lined my kit into the forest to get a client ready in a bridal yurt in the rain! I love every second of adventure, I’ve officially mastered the art of taking a ferry which is huge! I’m from LA we don’t have ferries.
Why is there a travel fee in addition to my services, I really want to break down the travel costs since 2021 has a solid amount of adventure elopements and destination weddings couples
Taking a ferry, this seems simple enough right? Get in a ferry line and make your way across to your destination? Well it takes much more planning than that, some ferries require a reservation that is only released on certain dates, and times which means we are planning our travel months and months before your event date. Securing our ferry is just the first step, we now have to find hotel accommodations.
Hotel Accommodations (most island hotels require a 2 night minimum so mastering the art of securing a hotel room for one night is a skill in itself) Why do we need a hotel? Weather is unpredictable and so are ferry times, times can be delayed on the day of an event and arriving the night before is an extra level of security that we will be at your venue on time and ready to start the day.
Travel Rate covers a stylist time traveling to and from your event
Over night accommodations if applicable, which means a few things if your in the San Juan’s, over a 2 hour commute, have a start time earlier that 7 am and are outside our studio radius
Flights, if your getting married out of state, the same criteria applies, we look for the most economical ticket, which takes planning in advance, transportation rates will apply (car rental, uber etc)
With so many gorgeous places to get married, from the San Juans to Seabrook and everywhere in between I hope this helps future couples to understand the reason for travel rates and what goes into them.
